I am retired after 31 years of service from General Motors in Baltimore, MD, and my wife Sue currently works part time for Johns Hopkins Medical Center - Bayview Campus as a Registered Nurse of Pediatrics. As we are able, we love to travel and vacation together using a number of time shares that we've purchased over the years. When we do this we always seek out local congregations to worship, study and visit with at Service times. The Hebrew writer teaches that we are "not to forsake the assembling of ourselves together" and we believe and follow this. We can vacation, but never from God. We find these visits help us stay on course for Heaven and hope that the local congregation is encouraged by our attendance. As we visited different churches we found some great new resource materials that were either in the public domain or which we had been given permission to use. So we began to gather some to use and share in our local congregation. Sometimes these media materials are superior to anything you can buy commercially. Some brethren are not so well off as others and free and inexpensive material can surely benefit them. But even those who are well off can use these excellent resources thus freeing their surpluses for other uses. I'm always looking for well done Scriptural media material that is either in the public domain or whose owner will give me permission to duplicate and circulate throughout the brotherhood. By providing this service to brethren I believe it helps to encourage, uplift, teach and better equip them to carry out their responsibility to fulfill the "Great Commission" of Christ. So far, these have included such things as lectureships, workshops, meetings, seminars and lots of good printed teaching materials like the Barnes Bible Charts by evangelist Donnie Barnes. Also, Patrick Mead now in Rochester, MI, has a 10 lesson workshop on Christian Evidences which is the best presentation of this subject I have ever seen! These men have given permission for these materials to be copied and circulated through the brotherhood. When a local congregation or member of one like yourself purchase these teaching/learning materials at or actually below cost, we expect them to share with the local church and beyond. This can be done by copying what you have or allowing others to do so, or in whatever ways one may find to pass it along. I'm sure folks will find ways to accomplish this mission in ways not yet even imagined. When one becomes a possessor of the tapes and/or printed media this now makes you a link in this chain. Please don't break this chain. If you have ideas, constructive criticism, comments or whatever I would appreciate the feedback. If you know of any or run across any media resources that you feel meet this criteria, please let us know so that we can check it out and consider including it in our offerings. This year we will begin offering DVD's and CD's of all tape titles.
